2021 Recap
As we look forward to the new year, we reflect on all of the amazing things 2021 has given us. As Balkan Bites grows and changes to fit new chapters in our lives, we cannot help but reminiscence in the amazing opportunities we've had, people we've met, and burek we've shared.
This year, we got a lot of love from the Balkan Bites Community and we couldn't ask for more.
We got to share burek with our favorite audience... Kids! Just look how cute they are!
We got to be in some really amazing publications like Buzzfeed, Bon Appetit, and more!
Our top flavors this year weren't a surprise! Our Spinach and Cheese Burek and our Beef and Onion Burek have always been crowd-pleasers and we are so excited they made the top 2.
We collaborated with some amazing brands to create new, limited edition flavors! With Balkan Treat Box, we created a Potato and Smoked Beef Burek. Then we did a triple collaboration with both Seed + Mill AND Raaka where we make a Halva and Chocolate Burek! Working with these awesome brands was such a delight and we are so thankful to have friends with the same crazy passion for delicious food.
Then we collaborated with even more of our favorite brands to do giveaways! In these giveaways we included our favorite products our brands have to offer. We did a giveaway with Balkan Treat Box, Jaju Pierogi, Sohha Savory, and Unusually Dressed! We had such a blast and loved working with such fun brands.
We also gave back to our community and helped to make a difference this year. In collaboration with Feeding Texas, Books for Albania, and Rethink Food, we got one step closer to making a positive difference in our community and communities in need.
And before the year was up, we launched our products in stores like FreshDirect, Park Slope Food Coop in Brooklyn and Baker Street Market in Maplewood, NJ! We are continuously growing and working to make our burek as accessible as possible. Every step forward is such a win and we are so thankful for the support we've had to get where we are today.
We are so thankful for all that has come out of 2021 and are looking forward to all of the new opportunities that 2022 will present. Thanks for coming along for the journey and stay tuned for everything that is to come!

Until COVID, we were selling our all natural baked burek at outdoor pop-ups in NYC and NJ. In the beginning of the lockdown last March, you asked us how you could still get our burek, so we quickly pivoted to selling them frozen and ready to bake for you to enjoy at home. We drove around NJ and NY delivering burek ourselves!
